New snippets

are up on my myspace now

A little bit of Grey October Day with the silky vocals of Tim Bowness.. this will be a single I think
and a tantalising glimpse of the Harpsong - the 20 minute epic- this is a small section just before it all goes a bit bananas :-)

There will be more and different tasters over the next few weeks.

That's so mean isn't it?

:-)

Barbican 18th July

I have just been asked if I would like to sing at the Fairport concert here..

I think that might be quite fun to do...

Lovely day today and what has made it even nicer is that the masters have arived. Y-a-a-a-y!

Changes...

I thought it was time to stop wittering and have decided to meander instead.

What's new this morning?

I have been looking at the places that I look at every day. DGMlive for instance, Robert's diary and stuff within the world of King Crimson....and Sid Smith's blog. Which is always really fascinating, reviews and natterings and updatings, plus the most fab photos of the mornings around his house.

Oh and have a look at Julianne Regan's myspace. There are some lovely bits of song there and she's a wondrous person..

and now I am going to deal with the ongoing illustrations kerfuffle and the plots and plans for releasing this album.

Oooh it is jolly interesting...

Patience, patience, is a virtue.......

....but I am getting to be so very tired of being patient.

Especially patiently waiting.

And extra-especially patiently waiting for things that should have been finished and dealt with months ago and shouldn't need to be patiently waited for any longer....

Enough of that...it's making me very cross and grumpy and I really don't want to be that...

Right. Where are we? April and more exactly Good Friday...since I stopped working in the library I find these public holiday things creep up unannounced and startle me. I always found it interesting that when the children were young they always developed some kind of illness that needed to be sorted out by a doctor on the Saturday afternoon of a bank holiday weekend. Uncanny that..

I have a lot of beginnings of new song-words floating around in my head these days. I haven't been able to pin them down to anything definite mainly because I would like to get the current album sorted out and completed before I start drowning in new songs. So phrases are just dancing around my days, tantalising glimpses of new tales that I can't quite get hold of...

I spent quite a while over the last couple of weeks answering some questions for someone who is writing a book on Acid Folk. Really interesting questions, quite simple and straightforward as questions but the answers needed a lot of thought because they led me back down the backways of memories that I hadn't thought about for many years. And of course none of us realised that the music that we were making was acid folk... it didn't feel like any kind of folk at the time...it was just what it was.. Fascinating to find so many different kinds of labels attached to one's music but I suppose it all needs to be put into context. I am really quite flattered when people want to know why and what and when and where. I so wish I had kept a diary....

Not long now before I become a granny. woohoo...

A gardening man has been doing some work in the garden over the past couple of weeks as well. There are things that have been sidetracked and untouched for the four years since I have been unable to keep the ivy and brambles under control so parts of the garden have become neglected. I have been trying to sort parts of it out, but I am very limited in my ability to pull fiercely rooted things up now, so I finally gave in and found a Person with his Own Shredder to come and do in a couple of hours things which were taking me weeks. And especially to do the pruning of pyracantha and holly trees which were trying to take over the universe. Hah! not any more..... it will look ok when it's finished..but I have to work out what to do with the dog decimated lawn..hmmmmm..

More later....
